As part of each Evolved implementation a wide array of professional services are provided to the customer to ensure a successful transition to a digital environment. Professional services are available in the following areas:
• Pre-Order Assessment
• Project Management
• Workflow Consulting
• Training
• System Integration and Interfacing
• Network Implementation
Pre-Order Assessment
The pre-order assessment is conducted to ensure that a complete, clear, and consistent view of the customer’s needs is obtained. The assessment is led by the sales team and supported by a member of the post-sale Site Management team to provide technical expertise and facilitate a smooth transition into implementation. The pre-order assessment consists of the following activities:
• Perform departmental workflow analysis
• Obtain exam volumes
• Develop imaging department characterization
• Gather basic hospital system information
• Collect modality information
• Determine digital network requirements
• Diagram potential configuration.
Project Management
Each Evolved implementation is assigned a Site Manager to provide overall project management. The Site Manager is the single point of contact in charge of:
• Management of Evolved system implementation from order to site start-up and turnover to Evolved Support Services, including oversight of resources
• Performing modality integration and validation
• Leading physical install and providing support of HIS-RIS integration efforts
• Providing a final system acceptance test report demonstrating successful implementation of the Evolved solution.
Workflow Consulting
A significant change in the way people conduct their daily activities comes along with the transition to a digital imaging solution. In order to facilitate a smooth workflow transition at the facility Evolved staff, led by Applications Training team personnel, perform the following:
• Conduct interviews with the appropriate department staff members to determine how the staff works in the existing environment and how data is moved through existing systems
• Used standardized Evolved templates, develop “as is” workflow diagrams
• Use an iterative approach working the staff to develop new workflow diagrams that depict the envisioned “to be” workflow.
Training
Evolved offers a comprehensive training program to ensure all users are proficient in the use of the new digital radiology system. Some of the key components of the training offering are:
• Development of a training plan specific to the client site complete with goals, objectives, and completion criteria
• In-person training at the client facility using the client equipment
• Documented system manuals and “quick tips” leave behinds for handy reference
• Post-training follow-up to reinforce principles and address questions after initial system use.
System Integration and Interfacing
Modality Integration to include:
• DICOM connectivity assessment
• Upgrades if required and methodical testing for proper image transmission, profiling, and acceptance of image display at the PACS Workstation
• DICOM Modality Worklist (DMWL) testing and workflow documentation
Hospital System Integration - Interfacing to existing systems to consist of the following activities:
• Utilizing the pre-contract HIS-RIS assessment data, determine what messages are available from the HIS or can be sent to the HIS
• Based on those messages, develop the proposed system message flow that supports the desired system workflow
• Develop the test plans and procedures for the interface
• Utilizing its interface engine technology, develop and test the interface for correct message flow
• Develop and test the interface in the context of correct clinical operation
Custom Integration Projects to EMRs or Billing Systems:
• As required at each site, through use of interface engine technology and various APIs, QSR also has the ability to interface or integrate their Radiology solutions to other client systems, such as EMRs, Web Sites, or Billing Systems.
Network Implementation
For each new implementation, a dedicated QSR network is physically designed and installed at the client site. The effort consists of developing drawings to document the design/layout, subcontracting the installation of the new network, and testing the new network to ensure proper connectivity and cabling. All QSR network installations are completed according to industry standards or to comply with any local codes or ordinances.
